About
SCD Designs LLC is a small family owned start-up out of Galveston County, Texas. Sarah, the owner of SCD, has 10 years experience performing administration, scheduling, and inventory control for a range of small businesses. She is now a full time mom, and handles the business side of SCD. Her husband and co-owner of SCD, Clayton, Has over 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry and holds a corporate level rotating equipment subject-matter expert position with a major refiner in the Houston area.
Mission
We are SCD Designs LLC, and we are here to increase understanding and build interest in the world of industrial rotating equipment. The amount of experience the industrial world has lost in the past 10 years is unprecedented, and interest in the millwright/machinist trade is very low. This is a cause for great concern, because without these skilled workers, modern life simply wouldn't be possible. SCD is dedicated to providing the industry, trade schools, and the general public with accurate, detailed 3D printed models of complex rotating equipment used in the oil and gas industry to improve the understanding of the machines that keep our industry and country moving forward.
